sometime this week (i'm not trying to be mysterious; i just forgot the day) the uncle driving the bus i was on got scolded by an old lil' auntie cause he didn't realise she wanted to alight. right after that lil' old lady screamed at him, the bus was really silent. ...those awkward silence? so, i felt pretty bad for the uncle because honestly it wasn't his fault! then i had this strange urge in me to just go up and talk to him thinking it'll make his day that a random stranger bothered enough to care about his feelings. AND SO, i walked up to him and told him "hey don't let that old lady spoil your day(:". but lo and behold! i guess he must either be really upset or maybe i'm whispering to myself again cause he looked really really lost :(

well well. don't i feel silly after that! but aiya i knew that if i didn't tell him that line, i'll probably be lamenting about it on my future bus rides hahah.

anyway. tell you all a secret! :D i went for the NJconcert last night, and gasppp they played the historia* song too! :O (actually it's no surprise i knew it long ago hahah!) me and shuying were listening out for section 2's favourite part of the song hahah, but well to quote shuying, "they are not given the solo" unlike our funkay section 2. actually, i could hardly hear them haha. AND guess what! you know section 1's favourite off-beat parts? hahaha i guess every band have the same problem. i made a recording and gosh you should have seen the glee and amusement on our (shuying and i!) faces right after that lil' section :D :D :D

AND i'm so glad we had our own concert, and not a combined one heh :p

anyway. hmmm. i'm not good at talking; most of the time, i think while i speak (which just means i open my mouth without thinking la hahah). actually, sometimes i think after i speak. SO, i guess you guys probably don't know how much harmoc meant to me with my realllly short lil' speech at farewell on wed!

harmoc gave me something to work for- some sort of a goal in my life which was missing when i went into aj. my days were LONGER, but HAPPIER because i've got things that i wanna do! i have this lil' caldender on my table, and every night, i'll fill in that day's most significant event. i had quite a few about our looooong exco meetings haha. and the daybreak preparation/events. and the concert preparations/itself... the camp, and even the day i fell off the trolley (if you guys can rmb hahah!). sometimes i get annoyed with harmockees but at the end of the day, i'll decide that i still love you guys afterall hahah. BECAUSE, you guys made/make me happy((:

i know not everyone share my passion, but i hope at least being in the harmonica band (and in the exco) was something enjoyable for you. twenty years down the road, when you view the pictures or the videos or simply just reminiscence, i hope your face will break into a smile thinking about the things that once happened during this short one year :D

hope the lil' smileys (i almost typed balls, but decided not to hahah) are still sitting nice on your table and not broken into tiny lil' pieces hahah. sorry it flopped a lil' (the clay's not dried, the ink's smudged, and the faces are cracked! sldkjfie) because it's the first time i used soft clay hahah. guess they're not the same as normal clay cause they don't dry when i bake them! :O

dear i-don't-know-who-is-reading-this-but-oh-well,

the mid years are over!

if you're eighteen years old this year, you'll have already gone through 17/18 mid years! that is, the one-hundred-and-eighty-two-and-a-half day of the year! according to my very reliable source that sits in my room and called the c-a-l-e-n-d-a-r, it's the last day of june and hmmmm, we must be well and over the midpoint of the year!

the past twelve months was a blast right?

p/s: it's 2.29am now, without soccer. even my biological clock has automatically set 2am as an alarm in line with the huge amount of football we're getting this season.

harmonica camp 2006 is indeed a blast! i think the j1s really really enjoyed themselves, and the j2s too! :D made everything so worthwhile- all the late nights, the constipation, the forgotten meals, the anger, the frustrations, and the fear. woosh!

for those who didn't make it to the camp (because you're too busy i ~~assume~~ HOPE :p), this was what happened:

the first day- i was late to school because of all the printings to do, and shuying messaged me how 'everything got off to a bad start'. the j2s themselves were late, and we didn't settle down to business until like half an hour before meeting the j1s, when we've scheduled to meet 3 hours earlier. 3 hours! 2.5 hours of wasted time just like that, but with the groups running their own errands so it's not too bad. thank goodness for the practice session at the start of the camp. if not we wouldn't have gotten our things ready! after the practice session it was the messy games station and boy did the j1s have fun =p some pretty mild ice breakers with tonss of waterbombs but haha you can see their true colours. bomb here there everywhere! human centipede, hands foot and mouth disease, battleship- such a funny sight! you see people acting like dead fish on that dirty 'mat', and then you see j1s rolling about on all the puddles of soap ovaltine ketchup. and the cheers! gosh they were so loud :D zhiwei may say he's pretty disgusted, but you know he knows we're having tonss fun :D and the bond between elvin and that j1 hahaha it's hilarious! they are like good friends helping each other with the equipment to dirty their own teammates haha.

the night walk was pretty okayy. not as scary as eeteng intended, but the stations! haha. fear factor (a modification of the game we played in CDPtraining) and the obstacle station! i think they're a riot haha. you hear all kinds of weird noises! ducks dogs cats i have no idea the j1s were so creative hahaha. and the obstacle station serkun was station master of hahah. gosh i'm such a klutz that they have to have 3 people supporting me! :p and i think i almost strangled the guy in front of me :p i still remember shuying coming up to me before the event saying she hate me because she's honestly afraid herself but yet i placed her as a 'ghost' hahah. but turned out the whole team of 4(ghosts) were afraid, with the exception of wenhui. when shuying told me about that after the event i was pretty amused. can anyone imagine my son being afraid?! hahah! anyway the scaring thing was pretty much a flop. for one group we just sat down and told them horror stories. i was in the midst of my charkueytiao-uncle-at-obs story when MY HANDPHONE RANG. !!! can you imagine it- such a tense atmosphere with people anticipating something anytime and then you hear the words YUM SENG~! HAPPY SHALALA IT'S SO NICE TO BE HAPPY. i almost cried into the phone hahah. but well my story flopped and i was so embarrassed i told them to pretend nothing happened hahah.

while waiting for their debrief after the nightwalk, the j1s were just mass playing those earthquake games hahah. a pretty heart-warming sight(: but that was the end of the highlight for day 1 i guess. after that there were some issues about the mess made outside mph and something else. we sent the j1s to bed, and after a while the j2s too. and here's where miny wanna say thankew(:

a big thankew to all the j2s who stayed up, especially shuying, nicholas and xiaocheng :D it was really a bad night, for me at least, and i think i would not have made it through the night so happily if it's not for you guys. it's simply because you guys are there that i stopped thinking so much and basically lighten up and enjoyed the night so much in the end haha! so yes a BIGGG HUG to you all :D

with such an emotionally-tiring night, i thought i would have died the next day by late afternoon since we slept less than 1 hr! but surprisingly i didn't haha. they had their very-bare-breakfast (jonathan would have been heart-broken hahah) and a very short practice session before going over to the track for combined track events with co :D hahah i guess that's when people start to get hyped up. wooohooo i think we have the funkiest cheers! it was so satisfying to see each section leading a cheer, and then the whole harmoc band getting together to cheer it, whether or not they know the lyrics hahaha =p and then the cheer we stole from co! that we modified to show that we are the 'sporting ones' hahahaha :p EVEN THOUGH we lost all the 8x50, it was still pretty fun :D after that was the short scavanger hunt me and shuying came up with the night before for them. hahaha no idea the items were so easily located! then they had ultimate frisbee and i think the j2s especially had lots of fun. because they didn't have anything to worry about nor anything they need to prepare so they were just bonding with their allocated sections :D

then... i think it was lunch. but before that we had to borrow first aid from co again, and when co ran out of plasters (woops) we had to get them from aje. as yiyu put it, 'what are we thinking?!' without double checking on our first aid kit hahah. but arwell luckily co was around! :D amazing race after that was funnn(: the j1s were so enthusiastic they almost tore the pe dept down hahaha! and i did something so stupid! for the treasure hunt i saw some j1s taking this piece of paper out from the i-pull bar and then trying to stuff the paper back in. so i went over and tried to cajoled them into giving that paper to me. when i got the paper, i turned it around and saw the number 1. since my group is section X, i tried to stuff it back in when i saw this girl walking towards me. afraid that she'll find it, i stuffed my fingers over the hole UNTIL i heard joshua say our number is 1 hahahaha. anyway, am proud of the j1s (section 2!) who didn't give up even though it's obvious they are behind in the game :D that's the spirit my dears!

after amazing race it's the usual pack up cleaning up. you can see the j1s taking every opportunity they have to practice their compeition piece hahaha. and the j2s taking every chance they have to sleep :p i got hit by the flu bug again so i just kept sniffling and sniffling and terrence was asking if i am okay hahaha. i just about want to yank my nose and fling it aside only. just about hahaha. camp finale was alright(: the people were tired, but they were sporting nontheless. the funniest was glenn, closing his eyes so dutifully, doing all the taji and elephant walk not knowing that he's in the center of the group hahaha. and he looked so happy! :D

towards the end, we were around half an hour overtime haha so i was very quick to dismiss them after all the prize distribution. UNTIL joshua suddenly asked 'minyuan where's your harmoc woosh' hahaha. that one woosh sparked off a whole chain of group photos and harmoc cheer :D (i say harmoc you say woo/i say harmoc you say ahh/ i say harmoc you say WOAH!) hahahah. and then a j2 cheer and they're off :D

pretty proud of harmoc and the camp comm especially at how things turned out((: at times during the camp, i had a pretty black face because i'm just irritated that somehow, some things just don't get through to them. but i really have to thank them for putting up with it, because i think at times i'm pretty unreasonable :p i remember my initial doubt or how i feel maybe i'm trying too much and insisting on too much. but well, it all turned out good :D
